St John's Church and the Parish Office may be found on New Road in the heart of Hythe. The village of Hythe lies on the edge of Southampton Water, opposite the main docks area of Southampton. It is easily accessible by public transport, using the Hythe Ferry to Southampton, or the frequent bus service across the Forest and in and out of Southampton. The main train station in Southampton may be accessed by a free bus that runs to and from Hythe Ferry terminal in Southampton. There are good road links using the A326 to access the two motorways the M27 and M3.

Southampton has a mainline station – Southampton Central Station. It is just across Southampton Water to St. John's Church. Alternatively there is the No. 9 bus or the Hythe Ferry are three optional routes: from the station:

Take the bus number 9 towards Langley (Hants), Whitefield Farm and alight at St. Johns Church, Hythe (approximately a 35 minute journey). .

The Hythe Ferry travels between Town Quay and Hythe Pier carrying foot passengers and cyclists. Crossing time is approximately 10-15 minutes. There is also a train along Hythe Pier, although you can walk if you'd prefer. When you leave the Pier turn left, walking through the pedestrianised shopping centre St John's Church is approximately 3 - 5 minutes’ walk from the Pier.
